Georgia Welles
Mrs. David K. Welles is a resident of Windsor and of Bowling Green, Ohio, though her interests take her regularly to destinations throughout the world. In addition to her position as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indian River Land Trust, Georgia is a member of the national board of The Nature Conservancy, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Vero Beach Museum of Art, is an active contributor to the arts in Ohio as a member of the Ohio Arts Council, and is former chairman of the board of the National Association of Independent Schools. In 2006, she and her late husband, David, received the Governor's Award for the Arts in the State of Ohio for their outstanding volunteer and philanthropic activity there. A native of Illinois and a graduate of Vassar College, Georgia is a strong advocate for the environment, the arts, and quality education, and is a thoughtful addition to our board. She is an avid outdoorswoman who enjoys flyfishing and spending time with her five children and thirteen grandchildren.
